Now for the shortcomings:
- Unfortunately Operation with eSATA cable was not possible because the cable does not make sense to fit the eSATA connector. The plate was recognized but access has not been possible since apparently not all connectors have been connected. The computer hung consecutive minutes (reproducible), trying on the plate, the only clacked access.
The operation with the USB cable was possible without any problems.
- The plate sits very shaky in the dock and move when you touch them lightly. Towards a safer seat would have been desirable.
- The docking station is the vibration almost no attenuation at the writing on - the sound can reach uncomfortable levels and volume. Although the station has been in no way intended for me too for continuous operation, but who is sensitive to noise, this property is found not very edifying.
- It was observed no automatic spin down the plate !!
Due to the mentioned shortcomings, I have come to the vote of two stars and had to return the dock unfortunately.
2. Part of the review (06/09/2013)
After the shortcomings of the first device I have this returned and even before it arrived from Amazon, I got the anchor Direct Customer Service a message that they want to send me a free replacement unit. Then I came in and was able to a few days later on the device (shipped via Amazon) happy.
Unfortunately, the problems were still:
- Access to the panel was not possible using the included eSATA cable - for whatever reason. Per USB 3.0 everything works and also with another eSATA cable that I use here at another external hard drive, the operation is no problem.
- It's been noted, no automatic spin-down for me was (eSATA mode). Maybe this is not supported.
What, however, had improved by this device was that the plate is no longer sits so shaky in the station.
On the friendly demand of customer service, because whether everything was working, I described my standing problem, then you promised me a credit for the eSATA cable.
All in all, I'm going to increase the allocation of points in my review (not to any pressure from the company side), four stars, for a so courteous service I have never experienced before. Operation at a (alternative) eSATA cable is therefore possible without any problems - to an automatic spin-down, I will probably have to do without. A Dockiingstation is obviously not designed for continuous operation, where it is an essential feature, but it would have been nichtdestortrotz nice because sometimes in practice a disk before it is operated for several hours.
