The theme of the story is original, the characters are nice although I struggled to hang on the behavior of heroin (Carlie). I find bitter, stuck, sometimes nasty, aggressive or even with Tyler (the hero) and without motive that will justify it. Ok it has kept emotional wounds because of her ex-husband, but Tyler is so adorable with her that no way deserves his surly attitude with him. Besides this couple seems "cold, distant from each other" and perhaps this impression of "distance between them" only because they vous for all the book even after sleeping together ... 2 times ... The fact also that he did not recognize as he slept with her the second time does not seem to me very credible ... It is true that during their first night together, she was wearing a disguise with a mask, lenses and a wig but it still would have had to recognize during this 2nd night if only by the sound of his voice, his smell and forms of her body ... and he should realize that it actually was "the unknown" that search from the masked ball. So it serves their relationship loses intensity because we said if he did not recognize during their second night together is that finally their first night did not have to be so memorable and magical than that ... contrary to what it claims. The end seems sloppy because heroin sticking to his guns and his a priori for all the book and suddenly changes his mind at the end ... For cons, the secondary couple (Brenda and Jason) is quite endearing. Moreover, given the way the author introduced the history and discusses their relationship and their past, I wonder if she has not previously written their own book dedicated to their history, and if so does this book would not be a series in the end? looking ... To summarize, this is what I call a "romance without the fuss": a story read between taking two more novels, we already know more or less the end yet it allows to have a good time by escaping relaxing few hours.
