I also had the unit ordered because of the expandability, the interfaces and the Linux operating system. Although I was aware to get a not quite finished product and was also prepared to accept some compromises. But what was delivered (after update) is not even in beta and alpha / beta tester, I did not want to be (at least not with a fully paid product).
Some Examples:
- Display not very good (strong viewing angle dependent)
- Battery life (even after repeated charging and discharging inadequately)
- Virtual Keyboard responds partly bad, eg characters in the bottom row. Here you often have to press 2x
- Fan is clearly audible when it starts (even at low load)
- System often crashes (eg a Memorized widget to a website deleted via Customizing, then reboot necessary error can be reproduced.)
- PDF's can not be read on edge (or did not find it, which is not the intiutiven use a pad, which I expect)
- VOB - files can not be played back (own videos, not copy-protected)
- E-mail client in the IMAP configuration unreasonable (confusing).
- File Browser is not configurable and confusing, for example, no symbols, no complete file name, etc.
- Some applications still in English
- No password protection
- GPS - module works obviously not right. My site have been found a place in France (Paris?). But I live near Dusseldorf.
- Many of the apps are not or not optimally adjusted. So I wanted to go, for example, in the preview image in full screen mode with a wipe to the next image, did not work
At settings do I go from a "normal" user. About a Linux shell (optional app) you can of course do a lot, but that does not help in every case. In addition, supposedly you lose the software support, if you installed a shell. What does this mean, however, is not clear.
Some of this is of course also a good solution:
- Display size and resolution (not quality)
- USB ports and Menu (as is, for example, at an inserted stick a button / menu next to the drive appears)
- Thumb scroll functions
- Linux options
Since I have the product fully bezaht, I expect a functional product with the promised scope. Here the manufacturer could -as often mentioned-even to wait. But is not the first glitch ...
Too bad, I would have liked to use the product. Maybe I'll order it in 3 or 6 again, if it really still is the pad.
