The device is almost like the 1043 to understand, to the fact that between 2.4 and 5 GHz CHANGED (does not work!) Can be. Since you want to connect only seltenst 5GHz devices it can only be used as a normal Access Point in the 2.4GHz range, the device also. But then with 130-144MBit / s (unless one has a brand new wireless card [of TPLINK] in the laptop, which creates more in the area ...) I had been two 1043er devices connected behind a Fritzbox as a router / switch, both devices constantly had problems with the assigning DHCP / DNS and its wireless connection abschmierte. This device seems to be the problem so far have not. Also the other 1043er router is stable using the latest DD-WRT.
The transmitting power is overwhelming compared to other devices. No problem: Forest 50m + two walls make the device no problem (only sometimes - depending on weather conditions ...)
I highly recommend this device as a 2.4GHz wireless device, but would warn against too much herumzuändern to software implemented functions. Also, the USB's degree is not the quickest read works with 6MB / s, writing with 1.5MB / s.
By the way: The unit can be used as a router and access point.
