Note - this is not the original soundtrack, but !!! the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of great PAUL BATEMAN plays many pieces (of course, after the original score) almost better. Shooting date 2006! This double with over 140 minutes of music (and even a passable inlay) is a must for Herrmann fans - even for film music lovers. The sound quality is almost set new standards in a Soundtrack CD that comes not as expensive SACD. Grandiose recording for the concert hall ;-)))) Sorry, no one came up with the idea to put a time around Herrmann evening in our highly subsidized philharmonic. Too Bad. At least spoaradisch emerged the great composer in international concert life - most recently in Wuppertal (See discussion of Opernfreund) There is still a lot to discover. Peter Bilsing 2.2.15
PS After all, there was finally finally finally the first German original performance of Hermann's wonderful (single and unique!) Opera Wuthering Heights in Braunschweig. A good CD recording has been around longer. (Orchestre de Montpellier Alain Altinoglou)
