I loved this book, even more than the one it seems! The first third of the book is devoted to the proposal for Minerva to Colin. Unlike what I thought, this is not done immediately. Colin is resistant to the idea of dishonor with the leak. This phase is important, since it allows them a first approximation, and Colin finally see the "real" Minerva, the woman hidden under the image that it returns. I liked this discovery, because after Volume 1 we had not necessarily been very thorough links between them. This expectation helps to understand who is Colin. Casual and seductive 1st First, it hides real torments that make it endearing! When the flight arrives to speak of, Minerva and Colin know a little better. I loved this "crazy week" that has all the initiatory journey of classical literature. Each will prove to himself, getting to know and grow throughout this journey.
The humor is still present and is reflected through the various stories that Colin can invent on their journey, polysyllabic names, Francine ... However, there is also a certain severity, especially when Colin discovers a little, Minerva shows his anxieties and uncertainties. Passion is also very present, Colin posing as a "teacher" who lets somewhat overtaken by events! We find ourselves here in a slow awareness of feelings and what they can and are entitled to expect of life. We see them work as a team, complement perfectly, and give to each other. It's romantic, funny, sensual and touching as A & P rarely do. Volume 3 with Kate and Thorne also looks more than promising!
