Grandiose and rightly a bestseller among the games

Battle for Middle Earth is largely based on the 3 Lord of the Rings movies and was implemented by the original licenses. In other words, the original name, original artwork, original speakers (mostly) and original music.

The accuses someone like me, who was thrilled by the scary movies, of course, immediately into the spell. Even players who have not seen the movie will quickly find the genial atmosphere favor, because it is really everything. I'd Battle for Middle Earth next C & C Generals call the atmospährischste strategy game ever.

The graphics are great as well, though not quite true to detail, such as in general or Rome - Total War. For the people and armies, and also the act places look exactly like in the movie. The only problem is the (EA unfortunately often the case) more than adequate programming Other newer games (Bf2 or AOE III) run at higher resolution and with better graphics liquid, but at least the game is largely bug-free and can also play without patches ,

Sound and music are also stunning, in great battles it crashes at every nook and corner, in small skirmishes hear cries of those attacked. The music is always very suitable and already known from the movies; it is in my opinion just perfect and fits in here perfectly.

The two major campaigns (good and evil) are also very, very good, even though the story was unfortunately implemented a bit weak. Despite some cutscenes in-game graphics lacks a little of the relationship between the individual battles. Here you could have a lot more out of it (see Return of the King). Nevertheless, the film missions have been implemented simply terrific on the good side, especially Moria, Amon Hen, Helm's Deep and Minas Tirith. While the unit is limited, but that does not bother me as much now. Large battles seen anyway. It's also nice that one takes his army from mission to mission and therefore the units continues to improve, until you have correct elite units. The evil campaign is also great, but does not quite to the good approach because the stimulus act out the movie and a few units to win against many, will be lost. Especially with Mordor produced just constantly units and send them into battle, until the enemy is asleep. Nevertheless, the evil campaign has its charm, because the story was twisted clever - plays itself.

Is also nice that you can often pick out the next mission to the Middle-earth map itself and sees how various armies move through Middle Earth. Furthermore, you can follow on the map the path of the Companions and nice (albeit small) can watch videos in the Palantir in the lower left corner, for example, to the Shire to Rivendell, Helm's Deep, Mount Doom, etc.

Taste is the Building Distribution: Building can only be built on solid building sites, what makes the game interesting but also because it several fronts arise and are fighting all the time. This game is very fast and very exciting.

Battle for Middle Earth is a fantastic strategy game, a must for all Lord of the Rings fans. Who has not played this game, definitely missed something! Pure excitement and incredible long-term fun await those who embark on the game!

PS Battle for Middle Earth used the same engine as C & C Generals, but is much better and more exciting, what the game probably makes it a quasi better successor to the C & C series of playful ago - at Lord of the Rings GROUNDWORK course!
