Grandiose melancholy ... (in a magnificent new publication)

EA80 - the mystery of the German punk rock. EA80 - the legend of the German punk rock. EA80 - the forefathers of Dark Punk. There are many names and categorizations to this legendary band. However, fact is probably a name (in my opinion) fully applies to EA80: It is and remains the smartest and most uncompromising German punk band that has ever existed. Since the early 80's years driving EA80 havoc in the underground and are still a celebrity: Especially by which they have refused until now to common practices in the music industry: No Promotion to their publications, no merchandise item, hardly to no interviews, no stirring the drum for tours (and still are this well attended to sold out!), to date, no official website let alone an official website and certainly not a pure speeches in their music. There are many people that can also do with the kind of EA80 not much. The stupid "mutt Punks" are EA80 to verquer, too boring and often "difficult" texts achieve not the rabble punks. But that's a good thing, because thus you can attest the band that they occupy a unique position in the rudimentary German punk scene today (rightly so!).

My active punk time (yes, and I've always rather as things heard as EA80, Chaos Z, Stürme etc pp) is already a few years back but, among others, have remained EA80. For me, it's hard sometimes mitzubekommen if there is something new from the band. Since you have already looking for a new publication, because as I said: Promotion of any kind are still non-existent.

I own almost all regular publications of this exceptional band and this legendary album "202" of EA80 is already for years in my CD collection - though since the late 90's as a burned CD, because then one has me this CD just so paid and it still exists today (in a separate box because maybe I have just 12 recorded CD 's) :-)
Therefore, I was hooked when I noticed (course late!) That this masterpiece album was reissued on vinyl.

"202" is one of the best albums of the EA80 probably have ever done - never before has such a destructive one melancholy in punk rock experienced (evil tongues say yes, it would have been a "Gothic" Punk, but to the "clichés "the Gothic is not oriented this milestone - That's it ...)

This album is from a single source - from beginning to end: Since meeting noisige Punk attacks on extremely moody sound passages in texts that make a dizzy if you want to interpret them (and yet ultimately able to make a conclusion!) And in every song on this classic feel the sadness that is coupled with anger at the same time. "202" is not a Feel Good Album and can really pull down a even today in some serious situations a. But who has a penchant for punk, melancholy and EA80 can confirm what I'm talking: Nothing is embarrassing, childish cliché - everything here is authentic! Alone, a song like "balm" sweeps everything away: You hear it for 8 minutes and then you sink into absolute sadness. That was back then and even today every single song has lost none of its force.

"202" belongs in every good record collection - especially (with the hope that many more works EA80 will be published soon so again in this polyphonic publication - they have deserved it must buy!
