As long as I do not need the mortar but probably. It performs its function well, I have no disturbing stone abrasion dust in Essen. I rub eg coarse salt, dry spices but also fresh herbs so. I think, the mortar is also nice to look at - because the mortar and the pestle are but of a different kind of granite, there are only 4 stars (that disturbs a little the eye, not the function).
