Because even today known hit is "Sound And Vision": melodic and catchy sing Bowie, sometimes deep and quiet, sometimes loud and clear on "Drifting into my solitude Over my head" where he frustrated waiting for new ideas.
"Always Crashing In The Same Car", will save me the the Interpretation eh something müsig actual in cut-up technique, appears calm and lost. Me singing, the mood and the text fragments affected like no other Bowie song.
In "Be My Wife" of the then still married to Angela Bowie sings about his loneliness and longing for a woman who stays with him and shares his life.
In "What In The World" is about longing that seems more little romantic in the case. He's just in the mood for love with the "just a little girl with green eys".
From the 7th piece Bowie uses his singing more like an instrument. Woven into the synthetic sounds, he uses a fantasy language, but this is very harmonious. Inspired by German bands such as Kraftwerk, Can, Neu! and others, it creates a very special and charming atmosphere.
Compared to its predecessor album Station to Station, which acts through dark, nihilistic, though beautiful pieces stands, "Low" to me almost ;-) self reflective and soulful. And as said Bowie times, art is only thereby art, what triggers it in the viewer. Hope he admits that to even his listeners. For me, "Low" a very personal album, let me faith! ;-)
Timeless and classy!
