The sound is great. The musicians are fantastic: you like Willie Dixon takes big names on the bass, the numerous hits for Howlin Wolf wrote as Evil or The Red Rooster and generally counts as one of the greatest songwriters of blues, then Otis Spann on piano, Willie Johnson on the guitar.
Actually every famous Howlin 'Wolf song can be found here on this incredible CD (in my opinion really missing commit a crime).
But what annoys me about this CD is the constant fadeout. To me it is a mystery how these songs could steal their end, not a single track was spared, always the songs are simply turned down towards the end. An outrage!
But apparently there is no version of these albums where this circumcision had not taken place.
Nevertheless, I would recommend to everyone this CD, which is interested in Howlin 'Wolf or more generally for blues music.
Just enjoy the voice of Howlin Wolf, who greatly influenced subsequent likes of Captain Beefheart, Tom Waits and Jim Morrison.
To me, that one of the most perfect blues CDs at all. If, as I said, this would not be merely Fadeout ....
