Great collection, with drawbacks!

As it suggests the description, is "The Elder Scrolls Anthology" of five selected games of "The Elder Scrolls" series. When selecting Bethesda Softworks has unfortunately covers only successful games of the series, which the offshoot "An Elder Scrolls Legend: Battlespire" and "The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard" excludes. The games of "The Elder Scrolls Travels" series of mobile phones are also not included.

About the chosen of Bethesda Softworks choice of words "The ultimate Elder Scrolls Collection" at Apply this collection can be argued, of course. However you get for the price of about 45 enough content and overall very good value for money.

Packing:
(+) The packaging consists of sturdy cardboard and makes a high quality impression. It is in two parts, a book-shaped disc holder and a box for inserting the "book".
(+) To protect the package is enclosed in a removable plastic bag. On this cover all relevant information that you expect from a normal game packaging (USK logo, barcode, content description, etc.).

(-) Negative falls on here is that the discs are held only with cardboard in the pages of the book. Thus, the discs can be difficult to remove and run the risk of scratching during removal.
(-) The cardholder is not particularly well designed to close and open towards the rear.
This could have been definitely solved better.

Content:
The contents of the collection consists of a DRM-free part and a part which can be activated only through Steam.
When DRM-free part of the DVDs must be in the drive itself for playing Morrowind and Oblivion.

The Steam-keycode is inconspicuously tucked back on a "The Elder Scrolls Anthology" brochure.
(+) During activation via Steam Skyrim and be additionally enabled the Steam versions of Morrowind GOTY and Oblivion GOTY. Thus, the versions of Morrowind and Oblivion are included twice.

Installation:
The installation of all the games on Windoze 8.1 ran perfectly for me.
Morrowind and Oblivion I installed through Steam and testing on DVD.
In Skyrim I did not test the installation from the DVD, but downloaded directly via my Steam account.
(+) The Ancient Games Arena and Daggerfall run preset via DosBox.
(-) Negative is that when installing Daggerfall the installation you can not freely choose (default is C: -> Programs).

Conclusion:
For the price of about 45 should not expect a high-quality collector's edition. It is very positive that the collection contains four DRM-free games and the Steam versions of Morrowind and Oblivion are additionally available. One star deduction, there are definitely for the steam activation of Skyrim and forced the mentioned negative points. Overall excellent value for money, considering the many hours of play and provided by the modding community additional free content or optimizations.
