I use the 10-22 mainly for indoor shots (eg museums), with a corresponding exposure adjustment it takes great images (Canon EOS 600D) even in low-light environments. The kit lens can absolutely not compete here - especially the shooting angle (10mm) is awesome.
If man can deal with the problems of such a camera angle (tilt lines with wrong camera angle) is the lens for the price an absolute enrichment.
