Great game, in spite of the (excessive) criticism.

First: I also liked AC Black Flag, exploring the Caribbean, the sea battles and pirate setting I found great as loose 40+ hours spent.
However, it was not a classic AC.
I personally liked the Ezio trilogy better. The storyline, however, especially large cities, as opposed to the shack villages from AC3 +. 4

The world:
Now at last you play again in a big city, with catacombs etc., and is great fun.
The vision is enormous, in the streets full of life.
The level of detail and the number of objects created an authentic world, as it previously in an open-world game did not give (and also in the fewest games hose).
The protagonist is a sassy dog ​​and it is fun to accompany him on his way.
The setting of the French Revolution provides the ideal and atmospheric background.
