Dell ... a double-edged sword. Good support - which is, however, required.

_____1. Delivery and Verpackung_____
The unit was shipped to 3 working days, from Amsterdam. that's okay.
The 2.6 kg "Ultrabook" was exceptionally well packed, but with sporadic accessories:
-Laptop
-Power Supply
-Two pieces of paper
In unboxing videos, I see that probably default, the slim power supply LED is included on the laptop connector. Why do I get only a cheap power supply when the Slim will cost the Dell HP 100? For the hefty price of the laptop you can but you expect, right? But in addition, I can see across, the power supply will be properly warm but it loads, more it should not do so, and is not too big.

The aluminum case is very well made!
The lid and the upper casing is fully hardly yields of aluminum.
Only the space between the keyboard and the back are made of plastic. The back still feels very valuable to, and does not yield well.
Very positive is the huge maintenance hatch, with which one comes close to all of the components and can also clean the fan.
Negative here is only the thickness, the extremely high weight of the laptop (other manufacturers obstruct the same components in 1kg lighter laptops that will cost but also twice) and the very stiff hinge. This can promise long life, but you get the notebook only when you hold the bottom with the other hand.

The display can be praised to the skies!
Positive is the very good colors and excellent viewing angle of IPS panels. Except for a loss of brightness, the color change is not even the steepest angle. The above-average brightness of 300cd / m² is sufficient for almost all cases. The touch screen, when you need him because performs precise and good services. I barely use it, unfortunately, as it then has many fingerprints on the glass.
The resolution is 1920 x 1080p which is absolutely sufficient, however, here block more and more manufacturers in the price segment qHD displays allow a much higher resolution.
Negative falls here on only the highly reflective surface of the Gorilla Glass NBT, which makes working virtually impossible in direct sunlight. In most cases, but that hides again the good brightness, as long as one is looking at the display. In addition, you can see in black image light halos at the bottom. Ie bright spots. But this did not bother me, because I notice this only when booting.
/ * Here I would like to mention something that I will not be included in the rating with, because I hope for Dell that I caught a Monday model.
After just two weeks, using the upper right corner has from the "oh so great" Gorilla Glass solved! For each open the glass at the point is a few millimeters so that you can reach behind the glass. Dell excuse, but something did not work, especially if it is still advertised on the website: We turn every display cover 25,000 times to give you the optimum processing to guarantee! Since they have my a bit too often bent)
Now I must send in my laptop after I have spent so much money, and do not even get a replacement unit. Excellent! I am not dependent on my laptop ...: / If that would be included here in the vote, the laptop would get a star deduction! * /

The keyboard is a double-edged sword.
The buttons are well, most of the keys are full-size and a numeric keypad is present. Only the Enter and Backspace is significantly smaller than usual. Me but does not interfere with.
Toll is the two-stage backlight. However, this is not to be used at a certain brightness in the room, because the buttons are silver and white lighting. The contrast is so low that it no longer recognizes the letters a day and have to turn off the lights. Black keys would have been here a practical and chic (The design was stolen without black keys unmistakable from MacBook;)).
Now we come to the big but: The chiclet keyboard is strongly of (Flex). That is all the surrounding keys move when with a pressed. That may be because, that between the keys but no metal thin plastic is installed. I have a feeling that this is already stronger after two months and am curious how does this relate to two or three years. For this you can the keyboard, it looks like, just to the five small gaps pry up and installing a new one.

The touchpad of extremely large and recognizes all multitouch gestures brilliant! There is nothing to complain about!
The surface is slightly rough. At first I felt this rather as sandpaper, but it suits me just fine now. Most touchpads are rather very smooth. I think that's flavoring / habituation thing.

For this price, the laptop offers all kinds of performance!
The 16 GB RAM will probably still be up to date in years!
The i7 is unfortunately only the Ultrabook version with two cores, but enough has this power for all current applications, many the same time and has the great power saving advantage over the full i7.
The Geforce GT 750M graphics card, can keep up with the almost 850 thanks to GDDR5 RAM, but is no longer up to date. Thus, one can loose play older games like WoW with highest settings in 1080p here for more current title, it is sufficient, unfortunately, only in 720p and low settings, if you do not want to play with 20 fps. ;) Graphics giants run here not. But that is quite remarkable for a laptop under 1000 and under an inch thick!
Unfortunately, unfortunately, here is installed only one HDD from WD. While this offers a large storage space of 1 TB, so enough for large movie, music and photo collections, but has the great disadvantage in speed. To this end, Dell relies on a 8GB cache, be postponed to the applications that are used frequently. Thus, the operating system boots up quickly enough, but for the performance of a good SSD is not enough long that!
Here I can only tech savvy people recommend nachzukaufen an SSD and even install, thanks to the large maintenance flap with just four screws. Because if the i7 with the large RAM and an SSD may collaborates you here happy performance over a top!
The battery life is in spite of the large bright display and high performace really good (we had also plenty of room in the housing). It does not stop with the over 10h with one Macbooks, but 6 hours Office conditions, with activated WLAN, keyboard light and medium screen brightness are not a problem. Thus one comes loose during the day if you go the laptop and again needed without the socket!
Also great: you can replace the battery even though it is built into the housing. Dell calls for the original battery but more than 100!
To have mentioned it and because I want to ensure no extra category open: The speakers of the laptop are good. Although they distort at higher volumes and of course hardly have low frequencies. But language is understood very well, and the volume is sufficient to clearly understand in 20m² rooms everywhere something.

When I opened the laptop, jumped me the sticker contrary: Ultrabook an idea of Intel.
All I can say: Who is looking for a compact device on the go, look for the typical super thin and light Ultrabook should NOT rely on this device.
With its 2.6 kg and average 15.6 "dimensions of this device is very large and heavy, but it has no CD drive. If you are used by an old log, which can really say about this Laptop Slim, but in addition a true Ultrabook he is a giant! Still, I'll take him every day in the university, and even work on the train is no problem.
But you get tidy performance, at a good price in a very noble enclosure!
Who I recommend the laptop? All who want to edit pictures / videos or produce music. Especially multimedia fans who enjoy Full HD videos and want to play a game every now and then and do not interfere with the 2.6kg additionally in your backpack.
