positively
almost everything, especially I would like to highlight:
+ Phone numbers and 2 functions (such as Alarm) on numeric keys / function keys assignable
+ Good speakerphone quality
Eco + 'EM radiation'
+ Call lists (accepted / missed / Outbound)
negative:
Menu navigation a bit sluggish
-Some ringtones 'useless' (resp. Instead, I had more Meaningful desired)
-When tap of the small text labeling of the keys is sometimes difficult to detect
I've tried different phones from different manufacturers, the Gigaset C430 is my current favorite.
Call quality is good, even when the hands-free function (I would call well above average).
Eco "Low radiation" and battery life:
Important purchasing criterion for me was the 'Eco-functionality'.
Radiation one is anyway exposed abundant, eg mobile phone (or WiFi around the neighbors ..), I have even not yet ..
When C430 can be achieved by disabling 'Max Range' and enable 'Radiation-free' radiation exposure minimized (eg, when not using the phone, there is very 'silent period' (which is in most older cordless not so). However, at this point also mentioned that incoming calls only then 'a little later ringing' (1-2Sec), and that thus the battery is a bit more stressed - specified by the manufacturer about 13 days Sandby are no longer achieved.
I'll be in 'everyday test' ('Radiation-free' is activated, calls little, much alarm clock / appointment Ping ..) in about 4 days, can be improved somewhat by battery exchange probably - are included 2 micro (AAA) 750mAh 'NoName' Batteries).
A battery of 'want to be loaded' makes itself (in addition to the 'battery icon' on the screen) by an optionally regularly sounding warning noticeable. Charging time is (provided in the base station) about 8 hours. Base station power consumption is specified with 0,5-1W.
Ringtones and Weck / Alarm Tunes:
of the available 30 ringtones seem to me indeed some completely unsuitable (eg easily be 'ignored'), but it is already found something with which life is good. (But hey Siemens (/ Gigaset) - a little more sensible choice would be nice here, have a look at the other reviews .. since you appear to agree)
In 'Address' can assign each entry any ringtone.
Volume of all bell and wake-up signals can be of 'silent' to 'really clearly audible' set. (I also think the attitude 'louder' - volume begins softly, and then louder ..)
Operation / handling:
The keys are lit, and can be operated well (eg when typing text in the 'Address Book' bother me, however, the keys on the unnecessarily small printed (hard-to-read) letters).
The phone is pleasantly light (also by small AAA batteries), and thanks to slightly 'rough' back and meaningful shaping it does not fall down as fast.
The menu navigation / usability overall I think mature, intuitive and well thought out. However, the navigation menu is a bit slow - acting anachronistic - but the phone is only adapted to their own needs, ists survived, in 'everyday use' one usually comes without 'menu Gehangel' out.
Not lot of unnecessary buttons. Nevertheless much Comfort - The number keys can be 'evidence' phone numbers. And the 2 function keys can be assigned with functions (eg alarm or baby monitor). This allows particularly fast a number 'select', or put the alarm clock, for example - I use, for example, love to remind me of dates (times) (can be found as in hardly any other manufacturer, and also not with all Gigaset models !).
The configurability is good, much (eg the flashing for missed calls Led) can be adapted to any / off.
Also present a viable printed manual is (consistently in German).
Display: I find easy to read and attractively decorated (2 designs -'hell 'or' dark 'selectable). Also screensavers zB'Analoguhr 'or Colourful Fish Background image is available - such' but gimmicks' are not that important to me, I'd rather have been deactivated.
DECT: operating eg at a Fritz box (without base station) is possible (also in the 'Eco mode', at least as long as the Fritz box 'Eco Dect' support).
Logs: here can be conveniently the last received / missed / dialed calls (numbers) by see or select again.
The C430 also there with answering machine (C430A), or for example with 2 handsets (C430Duo).
(The available 'Calendar / Schedule', or as the baby monitor, or the ability to turn off the phone overnight mute or reject 'unknown' callers, I have not been thoroughly tried and no need)
Alternatives: Who pays special attention to long battery life, the Gigaset C620 should view.
Who's particularly robust like (for example, suitable for the workshop, stain-resistant and with built-in 'Flashlight', finds might like on the Gigaset E630).
If you want to edit and ringtones such as "Phone book entries' to your PC, can do this with the Gigaset S810 (and S820).
(No I'm not sponsored by Gigaset, but as the important feature to me with the soft keys (eg put the alarm clock), I have unfortunately no other manufacturer found ..)
I have informed me before buying, and am glad to have the right device for me found.
Hopefully helps to find a bit, the appropriate phone also this report you :)
(Addendum 03.03.2015:.. Am still very happy here but 2 small criticisms that inzw me noticed - The batteries last (for 'Radiation-free' on) unfortunately sometimes been noticed by me four days not (eg frequent ringing / display / LED flash and of course phone shortens the stamina may entprechend).
Block of numbers: unfortunately Bar incoming calls from certain phone numbers (keyword 'call center') is not possible. (However, this function almost only offer devices a completely different price class. And who operates the phone via eg a Fritz box, can there any numbers locks (in the router's menu 'blacklist'))
