The LED bulbs are bright (felt 50-60Watt) and can be readily dimming and not heat up. But they must operate on a LED-enabled special dimmer. I have retrofitted. Otherwise there's flicker and hum. The design is relatively compact. Dimmable, LED lamps from IKEA for example, were too long for our lamp.
One of six lamp has nevertheless too strong growled, but was taken back without hesitation.
