- The humor: about the military speech in an invented language à la Chaplin's "The Great Dictator". Or the strange chant at other tracks and the LP cover.
- The exotic atmosphere: Some tracks listen to be taken as in the jungle or a greenhouse. Especially Mani Neumaiers drums produce this effect.
- The multifaceted liable guitar licks of Ax Genrich, which sometimes lead to responsive and escalating Heavy riffs.
What I particularly like "always fun", which is developing into a psychedelic track of a military Blödel song. The sultry and calm atmosphere could serve as a soundtrack for an action in the jungles of Africa. A similar structure is "Oxymoron". The other two titles have some good passages, the improvisations are here impetuous and remember "UFO".
"Kangaroo" is a link between their time of completely free improvisation and the accessible works such as "Guru". Which as LP succeeded the kangaroo and had quite appealing compositions like the "Elektrolurch" and "The Story of Life".
Since "Kangaroo" manifested "Guru Guru" its reputation as a humorist and exotics in the otherwise Beer serious Krautrock scene and her live act has since often booked at festivals. The three outstanding instrumentalists were even compared by some critics with Cream.
