I think the experiment succeeded! When looking at sometimes a bit surprised into German in the transmission, here a varied high-class album has succeeded where earning stars of German pop rock to Cohen's masterpieces try. Of course, here none comes close to the original, but there are far worse tribute albums. Those who want to engage in it, get a few highlights (Nina Hagen, Max Prosa, Reinhard Mey (!), Manfred Maurenbrecher) and much good standard delivered. Since none fall through completely. Only Mrs. Green Bird, one wonders what the have to look on the CD because they are so far rather not have noticed with German songs.
Otherwise, the mix of "very-" veterans (Hagen, Maffay, Mey, Waggershausen, Fehlfarben, Maurenbrecher), German Rockestablishment (Plewka, Loos) and some "youngsters" (which the more recent awareness anbetrifft- Madsen, Bendzko, Coen, Prose, Oerding, Cäthe) very interesting and will not be bored even with repeated listening. When one has the time all together on a CD? That should be more trying times - making in which one or the other sometimes feel like to listen to their own works accurately ....
