The iPhone mutates so a proper camera that can be operated intuitively, safely held in the hand and gladly photographed with. Entrainment and continuous shooting at shutter button is pressed? No Problem :-)
The handling is very simple. The iPhone can be inserted with or without the protective cover in the handle. The two holding arms can be to pull something apart. A key point is that the shell has a bottom opening for the plug.
The plug connects namely the trigger with the iPhone and is controlled by its own camera app called "Live Action", available for free. Is this once installed, the camera automatically turns on when the handle is attached. According to the manual, the camera app will also notify automatically when you turn on the iPhone when already plugged handle, but it works more often with me. That would IMHO not even be desirable, but an activation of the app by pressing the shutter button. Only, unfortunately, does not work and would be intuitive, right?
However, the handle also only works with this app and to any other camera app! There is a point deduction. We can only hope that Belkin its own camera app further refined with image stabilizer and exposure.
After all, the app allows the simultaneous photographing the films by the two separate trigger. Then it would only be good if it would be no shutter sound when shooting ;-)
Of course, the handle can be acting the way rubberized pleasantly rough, also use "unplugged" with all other apps. He then triggers not out, but still offers stability and the tripod socket. When I use the way a stable tripod Manfrotto 709B.
For stability during tripod use should also be noted that the iPhone in the holder, although somewhat stuck, but can solve by itself. It may go unnoticed lose contact so times when much handled it. And I think that it may fall in the rough use sometimes. Perhaps the problem is reduced with a matching envelope (do not have at hand), the front expresses the iPhone to the trigger handle (because otherwise namely air in between). It would be nice if there was a professional version, which solves the problem with an additional arm on the other narrow side.
+ Small, simple
+ Good workmanship
+ Good grip
Separated + Photo and Video Trigger
+ At least with the iPhone 4S very low shutter lag and continuous shooting with the trigger held 1 B / s
+ Self-timer in the app
+ Good tripod thread
+ Accepts major Covers
- Only works with its own camera app
- No activation of the app by the trigger
- Shutter sound when you simultaneously makes still images when shooting
- Self-timer and flash functions can be divided into the app very fiddly to operate, much too small for my fingers buttons
- Especially when using a tripod, the iPhone can from the holder solve (Cover reduces the risk)
Conclusion: Buy recommendation, price / performance ratio okay, but not yet fully developed for "professional" use with a tripod. Photography without the handle, I can not imagine any case, or rather taking pictures with the iPhone I can imagine only now.
