Saliva is this American hard rock band from Memphis, so not the Nu Metal Zeitgeist maintains and actually rather like the heroes of the 80 sounds (Van Halen, Def Leppard or Scorpions). But most of all, the band is extremely cool, especially the excellent singer Josey Scott. Although that has not really changed the style and sound, the CD still sounds completely different than it was the last CD "Back Into Your System". While the band during the last CD to complicated rhythms, partly sad and melancholy songs ("Weight of the World") or massive choruses ("Always") has set Saliva makes time rock-hard, "straight", unfussy ==> Rock in style of Monster Magnet. Josey Scott are in most songs as the coolest stallion in the world ("bail and switch" or "Carry On") and develops in a few songs at the right "shouter". Striking are the many brutal guitar solos, for example, in "Rock'n'Roll revolution". But what really impressed on the CD, are the truly distinctive rockers like "One Night Only", "Two Steps Back" or the first single, "Survival of the sickest", with the "Uhh Uhh" background singers. Because is not experimenting and herumgejammert because is just rocked. There are only two songs that show Nu Metal influence namely "No Hard Feelings" and "F *** all yall", the latter also rips the booth and has a solo of the brand Eddy Van Halen. "I want you" has the style of the last CD, with a sad melody and percussion complicated. You can feel that the band had in the production of this CD huge fun. Of course the obligatory ballads like "Razor's Edge" with Klaviergeklimper, "Open Eyes" and "No regrets" with acoustic guitars. The absolute hightlight of the CD is the track # 13 "Hidden Track" (presumably means "sex, drugs and rock'n'roll"): This song rocks that big, because everyone plays the air guitar with, even my sons (9.8 and 4 years). Saliva really a grandiose Hard Rock - plate made, which should be set each, the harder rock like music.
