For little money you get a superficially nice netbook. The MeeGo
Surface is pretty to look at, but the weaknesses revealed
of the underlying operating system "Linpus Linux" quickly. Thus, for example
working with multiple windows at the same time impossible (each window
is located in its own "zone", which reach awkward
is). Also to install new software with nieces a trivial
Task. LibreOffice like a layman still easy to install
be, but even with simple things like a recent version of
Firefox to install (was installed 3.6.3 !!!) are deeper
System skills are required. When attempting to install the VLC
(We could with the installed player not play DVDs) had
we capitulate (despite better Linux experience). Fundamental
Tools such as the GCC are missing completely.
The hardware, however, has left a good impression. You could
but do not realize due to a lack of indication of when the
built-in webcam is running (a case of opaque tape).
Conclusion:
Who does not hesitate to strike up another distribution,
the can with the netbook have a lot of joy. All others should
but advise against because the preinstalled "Linpus Linux" a
productive work makes at least very complicated.
