hauntingly VOICE

La Llorona (CD)

Customer Review

A VOICE that we retain lip as breathless after running too much in life ...
a nostalgic trip, melancholic, haunting in its rhythms, the imagined words of farewell and reunion (I did not understand the lyrics, the songs are in Spanish, but the suggestive power of the VOICE is intense ... and we just want to learn this language to understand a little more where does the strength and depth)
a walk in a country to Hispanic-sounding, Mexican and humanist!
I like this VOICE happy and sad, cavernous and festive, the one that comes from deep in the belly cavity, similar to those voices we still hear a capella in cafes and in the dances
It is no longer on track when you have succumbed ...
Little biographical note: Lhasa De Sela was born in Big Indian, in the Catskill Mountains of upstate New York. She grew up between Mexico and the United States, traveling out of time in a bus home with his family. At 19, she went to Montreal (Canada), decide to stay and meet Yves Desrosiers, guitarist recognized musical genius, who became the director and co-composer of his first album. In 1997, his first album was released, first in Canada and then in France. The success was almost instantaneous. The album is certified platinum disc in Canada (110,000 albums sold) and France certified triple gold album (300,000 albums sold).
Described as "creature" rare, unique, spiritual, dramatic and intense, this album interpreted in Spanish, was praised both for his music, rich in various scents that evoke cinematic landscapes, as for its text, an accomplished poetry.
His concerts, an unusual candor and intensity, were also central to its success. After several years of intensive touring, Lhasa takes a break to recharge ... New album in progress ...
