Looking for a small tripod, especially for macro and cityscapes, the Mini Pro DQ of Slik was recommended by various sides. Robust, high quality finish, with suction cup obliquely on smooth surfaces suitable (if the weight of the camera is kept within limits) and of sufficient height for garden and city photography (where you usually always a footprint for the required total height is). The ball joint can be set precisely and above all fix quickly. The quick release plate can stay connected with their protective cork on the camera, without leaving unsightly marks on the casing. Depending on the camera weight the locking screw requires more or less power, but is large enough to be able to fix it with a dime easily. The legs can be a bit off, much height but does not win you thereby. I use the Slik Mini Pro DQ with multiple cameras, SLR on compact and M4 / 3 and could still find no shortage. Of course, a heavy SLR calls for more contact area, thereby increasing the amount once again significantly reduced. With a slight compact (DMC-LX5, PowerShot G12, the Coolpix P7000, ...) but I can confidently raise the Mini Pro completely, as long as there is no wind and thus has an ordinary lens height of 30-35cm well. For storage or transport the Mini Pro comes in a black velvet pouch DQ with Slik lettering that also makes a very robust impression.
