We have earned just four weeks before the SodaStream Crystal 1x with CO2 cylinder, 3x glass carafes and 1x syrup sample packs, as he was responsible for 99.90 offer (local supermarket).
The device is used primarily by me, because I usually only drink water.
My partner uses it from time to time to make an energy drink. His buddies drink for a long time and their water with syrup and therefore do not need "special treatment" when it comes to soft drinks.
The plastic variant of SodaStream was not an option for us, we wanted not from the (plastic) rain in the (plastic) eaves. The glass bottles are dishwasher safe and wander in use with water 1x per week in the dishwasher, with syrup they come to the use of the benefit of a cleaning. With 3 bottles to get good, less might be a little more complicated. For the work we fill the bubbled but in plasticizer-free bottles to as the glass bottles will be ready for use at home always. This takes a little more time than the morning to grab ne finished water bottle, but I can individually bubble up as much as I actually need.
I am since day one very satisfied, first the handling was a bit unusual and I still had the right amount of carbon dioxide for me to find out. The amount of returnable bottles has decreased drastically and we save to buy six-packs 2x per week and haul to the 5th floor. Super thing so!
"Negative" I noticed only three things:
1. One should or I then ordered from Amazon directly after a week a replacement cylinders, at a large drugstore with D & M wanted to sell me no full cylinder as a replacement - only in exchange with a blank. All attempts to portray the situation why I only wanted a cylinder as a replacement (I would have paid in full) have been unsuccessful - therefore thank Amazon that with you was possible! :)
2. I have found no evidence for the hygienic aspect in the user manual. The tip comes into the water: you have to always wipe after use? The container to leave open so the tip may dry?
3. Of the 3 bottles in the package was unusable a - I do not know what kind of error it has, it looks like the other two but if the bottle is used hisses the carbon dioxide directly from the container and the water overflows into the container. At first I thought the unit was already broken - but I'm glad that it was only because of the bottle.
I'd like to mention here the support of SodaStream Germany: I had no desire to call the hotline and to recite me the manual. About Facebook I have described my problem and now get a new glass carafe sent for free. The old shall I destroy. (The feedback has indeed lasted a few days - but I still had 2 good bottles and Support is waiting not only to times I send a request - so far quite acceptable)
Positives:
- Significantly less plastic waste
- No (water) Sixpac Towing
- No (or at least scaled) beverage storage
- Always something to bubble since
- Easy to clean because the bottles are dishwasher safe
