Tamron 18-270mm F / 3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD lens (62mm filter thread) for Canon (camera)

Customer Review

It's been quite clear that the Tamron 18-270 mm zoom is not a panacea. But when one is tired, walking around with multiple enclosures or having to change in wind and weather the lens regularly, it is quite ok. Sure, a zoom with this range may not provide the highest resolution and the best contrast, but I did not these demands on the lens. My images are to be incorporated as soon as possible and be so good that I can use them as images in newspapers and magazines normal. That works quite well. At higher demands of customers at the footage they have access to professional photographers with outrageously expensive professional lenses - and pay correspondingly more.

Pleasant I found the warranty extension to 5 years, for which one must register however the part within two months at TAMRON. The lens makes the use a good impression, is well made and is in the retracted state also quite compact. The supplied sunshade is helpful. The lens is also due to the camera comfortable to hold. The autofocus works properly and is nice and quiet that you can also get good wildlife shots back. By severity of the lens, however, you should be careful to protect it when using always by a small switch against inadvertent retraction. Zooming goes slightly out of hand. It has quickly fetched motives and so can quickly select the optimum aspect ratio.

The image quality with the resolution is higher than I had initially thought. If you set the highest quality, on to high ISO values waived (grain and noise) and possibly even take pictures in RAW format at the same time, you can also zoom in details well. The weakest results provides the lens - like no other can be assumed - in the extreme ranges with strong wide-angle and full telephoto. Especially when telephoto range has often been a problem with the sharpness. The image stabilizer is because although helpful to prevent camera shake when taking pictures from his hand and makes sure two or three stops, but can not compensate for the blur. The image contrast is not really convincing. Although he can be significantly improved by choosing a small aperture, is then, however, often forced to choose a higher ISO or use a tripod to avoid camera shake even in the telephoto range. For all aspects of travel photography, optical distortion of the lens is acceptable. Especially in wide angle, however, it falls into the eye. The reproduction of the colors I liked at upstream Tamron UV filter, although it lacked contrast.

All in all I am quite happy with the TAMRON 18-270 after several months of use. Its manageable weight and length make it for me for good work tool when traveling, and the quality of the pictures right in most of my clients. Part I need the contrast afterwards rework and wished that this already geschähe the lens. Even with extreme wide-angle and telephoto shots, I'm not always happy with the sharpness - especially if I want to select an image area as a motive. For amateur photographers who do not need to pay attention to maximum image quality the lens is completely sufficient for simple professional use, it is ok. Who wants to be flexible and not always change the lens, is well advised with the TAMRON 18-270, because the other Super zooms in this price range do not offer better quality.
