Temptation is probably Holly Cole's darkest and schwermütigstes album. For sheer relaxation but not necessarily recommended, because after the first hearing is like having a personally undergone with Tom Waits, the night in the desert. What Holly Cole makes the tart gloomy songs, gets under your skin. Even after the second hearing I was not able to escape the pull of the often fragile, but always expressive voice. The authenticity of the arrangements will not be lost even after repeated listening, but I sometimes miss the usual quiet jazz style of the trio on this album. Now the only question to what occasion you can hear such music to be moody without itself ... My tip: No. 11, and just drop it..
