The protagonists of this story short, Sam and Charlie are friends penniless roommates, who are most searched, the others being just flown over, and most of the action takes place outside of this fatal house.
We saw the consequences of this home but without ever knowing the cause, it remains a little hungry when the book ends as we would have liked more.
Reading is easy, the story is short and this is perhaps why we feel a lack of depth to fully absorb the terror it is supposed to bring.
If you are looking for a slight shudder, do not sulk your pleasure.
One final point: although obviously the story is set in France, the author likes to play on ambiguity with names and surnames which may be English-sounding.
