I have the HTC One pre-ordered (at o2) and using it for the 11.3. Now every day.
It is a device without branding.
In my test, I will one or the other compared to the Sony Xperia Z consult, as I was able to compare the one with the device of a friend and I myself was also on the verge XZ to buy me that.
I would like to note here that I phone (cell phones) in everyday life and not be used in laboratory conditions and have tested.
The technical data you can even read on the net. This I will not now write down here.
I will pick up in the review the following topics:
-Lieferumfang
Haptics / optics
-Display
POWER ON
-Sound
-Battery Life
Camera
Software
Connectivity / voice quality & Co
-Lieferumfang:
The One has a USB charging cable, the power adapter, headphones, a few pieces of paper and a "metal part", which allows you to open the Simkarteneinschub supplied.
So it's only the Notwenigste it.
Haptics / optics
Visually and from the processing has HTC, I think, done everything right.
The design is simply awesome and the phone you look at over and over again and think "great!".
The smartphone does not just quality, it also feels like that.
It nestles formally in the hand.
A one-handed operation is possible without any problems and I have no monster paws, but average-sized hands.
Unlike the Xperia Z is 4.7 "a little smaller.
Visually, I find the XZ also very nice, but it's just very edgy and it is simply not as good in the hand as the One.
Also keeping the One no speaker (speakerphone) to when you hold it in the left hand, as it can happen already times when XZ.
-Display
When display I have to say, the point definitely goes to the HTC
The colors are natural and not "cartoon-like" over like the AMOLED displays from Samsung.
If you hold the one next to the XZ falls a first immediately that the colors of XZ are very pale in comparison and that the XZ is konstrastärmer as the One.
On the subject of viewing angle stability one can say only that the HTC is here clearly forward. The colors are only weaker when one reaches an angle where you would never look at his cell phone.
On the subject of Focus: Both devices are equipped with a Full HD display .. So the image is razor sharp. You noticed a difference in the area with the eye not.
POWER ON
The HTC One is fast. How fast? Sauschnell ...
It jerky nothing, it hooks nothing, everything was great.
If you start your smartphone, it is booted up in about 3-5 seconds.
According Antutu and Quadrant HTC is due to the newer processor also here in front of XZ.
I have the numbers no longer exactly in the head, but it was approx .:
Antutu HTC: 23000
Sony: 19000
Quadrant HTC: 10000
Sony: 8000
It is as I said to approximate values. I know the exact values can not remember exactly.
In everyday life, making the given of the benchmarks performance difference is not noticeable. Both devices run smoothly.
And if you really "need" this performance is another matter.
-Sound
It's loud ... loud as hell!
And it makes me fear that as soon as the price of the device has fallen and young people have it, we are all of our lives are no longer happy. I say only: five series in the bus ... The path ... The city center .. etc. places of permanent mobile-PA!
So, dear parents: Will buy your children please, please, please not this smartphone! ;)
Joking aside! The sound is really great for a smartphone. At full volume, it is not to oversteer and it also cracks nothing. It is also transmitted a bit of a bass feeling. However, one should not expect a boom box here. However, I would smooth argue that in terms of sound quality and smart phones is now a new reference on the market.
The XZ does not sound too bad, but does not come here to the HTC zoom.
Especially since you as mentioned above the XZ, in advance of providing the speaker evil; when the phone in your left hand is held.
-Battery Life
First of all: The battery is not replaceable. Myself do not mind that, because I've never changed in my life a Mobile Phone Battery ....
The term is in my opinion very good. I have under heavy usage (browsing, some music heard, a few Youtube videos, permanent Wlan, approx. 2 hours on the phone) achieved a battery life of about 29 hours. And after the first charging.
Admittedly, I have to say that the energy-saving mode was activated.
After the second charge cycle I'm at 41%, the duration is exactly 1T 0S 40S 1M, the power saving mode was about half the time out, I phoned, WhatsApp used surfed, WLAN active, videos watched on Youtube etc.
The runtime can be seen so well.
The time required to charge the cell phone (from 1% to 100%) is to be settled in about 5 hours.
The XZ has a not so high runtime according to the statement of my friend. Load time, I can not say anything.
Camera
I use the camera for snapshots and am fully satisfied here. The quality of images is, I think, quite well.
Images are given faithfully reproduces and it is also possible to shoot images in semi-darkness. This was nearly impossible with my previous HTC Desire HD.
Although I now have to say that I am still not professional amateur photographer. But I am also sure that you used as a real camera.
The Bereitmachungszeit the camera is about 1-2 seconds.
Compared to the XZ I see here but the XZ something forward.
The pictures are here (when properly adjusted) something detailed and in semi-darkness and a little lighter.
There is no significant difference, but you can see it in direct comparison already.
However, it should be mentioned that the Xperzia Z ever need 5 seconds until the camera is ready to be used.
Software
I myself have a little practice is required, until I had the operation on it.
It's a little different from the "old" HTC Sense.
I must say that I really like Blink Feed and I like to get the news of things interest me or Facebook directly to my Home screend.
However, this is a matter of taste and whom you do not like, who can turn it off and switch to the old view.
Otherwise, there are a few gimmicks like ZOE, etc., which I will not go into now.
I think that is beyond the scope.
One can generally say that the operation is intuitive to learn and requires no manual. Each of the advance had a smartphone in hand is, cope well with the One.
Connectivity / voice quality & Co
What you have to with a phone can in the first place? Exactly! Calls!
With the HTC can be the actually. ;)
At first I was concerned that the reception aufgrunf the aluminum housing could be bad. The opposite is the case.
The reception is consistently good.
The voice quality is very good. We understand and they understand you. What more do you want? :)
Even the Wlanempfang is good. Where do I with my Desire HD only just had wifi then, has the HTC One full reception. That really impressed me.
-Conclusion
The HTC One is in my opinion currently the best (most powerful) Android smartphone suitable for everyone who wants to have a fast and top-to-date smartphone.
Multimedia tasks rewinds the One from effortlessly and it's fun to play around with the phone.
Because leistungstechnisch can not hold a candle to the other telephone One currently well.
Whether one but really needs this power, everyone must decide for themselves.
I myself do not regret the purchase.
From me there is therefore a strong buy recommendation for the HTC One.
However, those who prefer a slightly better camera and his cell phone submerged in advance in the toilet, the better picks for Xperia Z Sony. ;)
