Early in the game you can make your character individually and determine the class. I've followed the setting of the game and select the pre Commander Shepard.
This game world is huge and very varied. Only at the side quests and the field work I would have liked more variety. The story is cinematic and worked out the different characters clean. The graphics pleasantly surprised me.
Similar to Dragon Age, the plot follows a major strand in addition to the numerous side quests can be fulfilled. These fill in the account and can now and then serve with useful articles. Long distances are always a problem in role play, even if the world takes such a dimension as in Mass Effect. Bioware has sought to minimize this problem, but here and there has it can not be completely avoided, and we trudge minutes through corridors to get from A to B and back again.
During the game, the player is faced with many decisions. In addition to deciding whether to choose good or evil way, you can enter romances (which have an impact on the later parts), mess with team members, etc.
Battles abound, although they never degenerate into a simple Hack n Slay. The AI is no challenge too high and thus keeps the frustration in most cases limited. Compared to Dragon Age, the tactic is lagging behind in the fighting and has already been touched up in the second part. The enemies are varied and me at least it was rarely boring.
When sound I can also complain little. The entire game is underlaid with speech output and the music adapts to the respective event, without being too monotonous.
Conclusion:
In my opinion you can not go far wrong with this game. For people who are just on pure action from the game may not be ideal, but for everyone else it is only recommended.
Mass Effect has created his own universe, without too much based on common templates. The story is exciting, though not without pathos, characters and game worlds are lovingly decorated and it's fun to explore the world.
I was tied up the game a lot of hours in front of the screen and it gave me stomach has more. The second part I bought right after and will certainly also play the third part.
