I could already test the ProGlide Styler from Gillette through a 'trnd' project, and now wants to let them share with you.
First, the packaging:
The shaver is delivered in a very High-quality sounding Plastikverpakung. I speak here of no 08/15 blister, but a really good (possibly resealable) plastic box.
Package Contents:
- Gillette Fusion ProGlide Styler
- 3 trimming attachments for different cutting lengths
- Including shaving attachment 1 ProGlide blade.
- 1 AA Mignon battery by Duracell
- 9 ml sample of Gillette ProGlide Gel
- A 'state system' to store the shaver in the bathroom
The first impression:
Out of the box is striking that not only the packaging but also the product itself makes very high quality impression. The Styler is rough, the materials quality. Even the supplied 'state system' makes a very stylish impression and my opinion is an eye-catcher in the bathroom.
When I now neugierdehalber the shaving attachment stuck on the device and it again away, I realized that this only works relatively sluggish. I was almost afraid that I would have some damage when removing (but this was not the case).
Application:
On holiday I had my my beard really grow wild cloud, then the styler times really try.
Unfortunately this came the disillusionment. Whether with or without trim attachment, the cutting performance of the trimmer is compared with, for example, a very low body groomers. So I had to go several times over a point, also the cutting was always clogged quite quickly. While it is easy to clean with water, but this is in my view quite annoying. It can be combined with the shaving due to the sheer size of the apparatus quite bad shave.
The ProGlide Styler is for smooth shave simply too large and too unwieldy. Here I prefer he prefers the ProGlide Power (which BTW has the same blade.) After almost 30 minutes, I was now ready and had the test because of a beard a la Stromberg on his face. But the overall result was not very satisfactory, the trimmer worked well enough thus still stuck out quite a lot of hair, as I did not everything should be smooth through the awkwardness of the shaver, got smooth.
A day later I received the bill for the low performance of the trimmer, I got razor burn and the beard began to itch badly.
I just decided my face to get rid completely of hair and took the styler with a shower, according to the description you can also use it in the shower. But when I then opened the battery compartment, I noticed that there was water there. The Gillette Fusion ProGlide Styler is so smooth flunked in the point. However, he still works, but the question is how long it is going so well. EDIT: It is remaining 1 week went so well after the Styler unfortunately died the "aquatic decease", therefore also written down to 1 star
However, something positive to report: The included shaving gel is really very good, it spreads easily and it is very economical. A 'normal' razor fluscht very well with it. It would get in a single rating 5 stars from me.
Conclusion:
The Gillette Fusion ProGlide Styler is not recommended in my opinion.
The average power of the trimmer is too low for shaving the Styler is too unwieldy. He is not waterproof as well. I think that I and my friends with Bart will continue to prefer two separate devices for trimming and shaving.
