I've used several Fritz boxes, but I am surprised at this, with what kind of bad software was delivered. I received the Fritz box with the Fritz! OS 0603, so the latest version (as of 03/2014). At first glance, the software works just as good as one would expect from the boxes, but in practice it turned out to be useless for my purposes. Among the problems:
1. I keep a phone call and a second call comes in. Without that I could prevent it, my call is simply broken off and first of all I do not know why. A look at the log only shows the cause - the second call.
2. I run a telephone call and a second outgoing call is to be started. There is then the handset of the first call, a screech, and shortly thereafter the first call is terminated. None of the calls can thus be performed. At both one must first hang up before you can perform a renewed conversation.
3. Call forwarding not working.
4. 1300 Mbit / s I have not achieved despite current (leistungsfähriger) hardware and a distance from the router by less than two meters, at 300 Mbit / s was over.
I am already Tips from the homepage of AVM all gone through, but this brought no improvement. So far I have a Fritz box 7270 v3 used and all findings described above did not show this box. The Internet line is the same, so do not lie on kanns provider. All settings of the 7270 v3 I have omen in the 7490, so I can here exclude misadjustment. Therefore, I contacted AVM. I was advised that I should use the laboratory firmware and may report my experiences. I shall therefore make up for what would actually have been AVMs task.
Since I am dependent for professional reasons in a working telephony incl. Forwarding, I can not afford not to use the Fritz box with the current firmware me. That I have given 3 out of 5 stars is because I assume that the hardware is likely to be in order and the software - because it would work, would be good. It should therefore be only a matter of time before an update will eliminate the problems.
Bring Nächtes time please only one product on the market, if at least the essential functionality that are suitable for everyday use. Later firmware updates should bring useful extensions or improvements and not make the box only useful.
I sent the box back and once use my FritzBox 7270 v3 on.
