To judge "Bulletstorm", it is indeed the understanding of two very distinct ways:
- On one side a flawless realization, which is furiously thinking of "Enslaved" (for his world), and which we can say that it is correct without being a must: graphics with saturated colors, a slobbering strand, and materialize post apocalyptic scenery straight out of New York 1997 (see Darksiders for some sequences) and Mad Max in terms of its occupants. The playful video or cinematographic references are many, perhaps even a little too much to give the impression of being a 100% original creation.
In short, the technique holds, and in the end we therefore finds no, apart from a few minor glitches, in particular defects (no slowdowns, no clipping, this is fluid at will) in this FPS supercharged to whom one can just blame being too linear (traditional one follows "corridors" of the first person shooters) and too scripted (the enemies that appear only after having passed a waypoint).
I would also be lying if I told you that the life is exponential, little helped by a multi certainly nice, but too small to hold in suspense for months as a COD.
- On the other hand, and if we disregard the more "rational" aspect mentioned above to focus exclusively on what "Bulletstorm" ie a real stress relief, a fun entertainment, high color and 100% nag, the bet is unquestionably won: the game does not take itself seriously, and its sole purpose is to make you spend a pleasant time to burst all that moves with "style". And in this respect there, developers (whose studio - people can fly - aptly named) have not missed them, imagining a thousand ways gore (and enjoyable) to kindling. Some will say that this sadistic violence is in bad taste and that the game is not to put all hands (which is true) but it should be, again and again, to return to the perspective of creation, very second degree, the first of which is precisely to quality in self derision. In this connection, the characters are all very successful and dialogue, marked by the same black and sarcastic humor, largely contribute to the offbeat spirit of this production which we aspire to return between friends or even solo to improve its scores .
Apart from any technical considerations (or moral), "Bulletstorm" marks the return to the essence of what must be a video game: fun, fun, and nothing but fun. The pleasure of playing is alive and well and you will understand, it is the point. If, for a sale price to the cleat (70 in some dairies), all seems a bit light, it is well worth a visit for an intermediate rate and much more suited to the qualities of this funny stress relief that deserves, in the end , a good score.
