Portraitists, you dreamed: Sigma did

The superb NIKON 85mm f / 1.4 AF-S G dream fans portrait photography and proximity ... but much less bankers.
This population of photographers (portraitists, eh, not the bankers) now has a replacement from Sigma with the fixed focal ultralumineuse: the 85mm F1.4 EX DG HSM. Its large opening allows to benefit from any ambient light to work indoors without flash or control depth of field, especially in conjunction with a full-frame DSLR, D 700 for example. Although, mounted on a APS-C DSLR (Nikon DX type D90 or D7000), it becomes a 127mm F1.4 ... ... not you say bad! Equipped with HSM (fast, quiet), this lens offers extremely soft blurred background, an area where excels precisely the Nikon-out-of-prices quoted above.

The Sigma perfectly allows such effects, especially with the tight framing of APS-C DSLR. But you also know that controlling such a purpose on small sensor housings is quite tricky: at minimum focusing distance of a D7000, the depth of field is of the order of a centimeter! Therefore difficult to portray net with both eyes! With more distant shots, sharpness appears better, but looking at the picture "crops" 100%, you quickly find that here too the optimal range is short. I advise you to use this perspective rather than on FX DX. In contrast, excellent brightness allows a targeted and developed really nice. If someone lends you this beautiful "stone" for a test, even stealthy, you might have a hard to restore it! This 85 mm F1.4 can cause in you a love at first sight ... you have been warned.

The optical quality is itself quite exceptional: this objective meets the requirements of the EX range, the professional range of Sigma, then. The focusing system reduces chromatic aberrations and lens coating reduces the "flare" and ghosting. The development allows the HSM-time manual focus. Various tests by professionals point out, there is no optical defect to report, which is extremely rare.

Finally, the elegant black dress and semi-matt finishes to give - if any were needed - serious arguments in this superb optics. This objective will complement your collection of bright fixed focal lengths and top flight for your enjoyment. Only its price, expensive for the amateur, should be able to stop you.
