The game:
Super Mario 3D World is for Super Mario 3D Land (3DS for) the first 3D Mario and you quickly realize that it is strongly oriented to the predecessor. (Search 3 stars per level, run to the end and jump to the flag) Many elements are identical to 3D Land and the 2D Mario Bros games for 3DS, Wii and Wii U. So you are on familiar terrain, experiments like in Super Mario Galaxy, for example, will not dare.
Nevertheless, it has managed to Super Mario 3D World to inspire me. The level design is incredibly creative and varied, sometimes even certain norms of the aforementioned predecessors are broken (in a level you have, for example, on a dinosaur a river swim), which reminds me of earlier positive 3D titles. Again and again the love falls on to detail that is here presented by Nintendo.
The graphics are (despite only 720p) very well. Many small details (such as smoke, that arise when the players run fast) fall on positive without distracting.
Multiplayer:
The biggest new component is the multiplayer mode. So far I can only second this assessment, but it's great fun. Compared with the 2D predecessors almost no longer to get in the way and it is better possible to create it "together" through the level. At the end of each level, but a winner is determined from the points of each player determines the next level must wear a crown (their benefits primarily is to inform the other on their own success). Despite co-operative gameplay This creates also a certain competition between the players.
3-4 players can I (still) do not judge, optionally replenished.
Online multiplayer, there is not, which I think is also unnecessary in a Mario title. I share the opinion of Nintendo since that local multiplayer just makes a lot more sense for those games.
Conclusion:
The remaining worlds Unless radically for the worse, I can only give developing a strong buy recommendation at all for this game.
