The author to be recognized for having conducted and reported its investigation with some rigor. This same rigor that keeps the book from falling into the glorification of Mother Nature that made the success of the film. Certainly the American landscape make better 16/9 on recycled paper. They are not described elsewhere, as if the point was elsewhere: in humans. We learn a bit of everything on this unusual character. And that's probably what we were looking into opening the book.
But guess what ... the reporter back beautiful in every sense of the adventure Supertramp, there's no deep meaning to be drawn. Platitudes. Alaska is stronger than you ... Going on the road after giving his money to Oxfam, it leads not far ... When you turn your back to her family, is the bane of its members. .. Closing his loneliness needs does not fill the eating ... These are some of the moral that one gleans the pages.
That's a perfectly absurd death. And the passage that marked me the most, perhaps, is this litany of missing adventurers in such tragic circumstances, even as absurd. Especially this unfortunate precursor which had planned to be dropped somewhere in the middle of one of the wildest places of the 49th State, not how to get back to civilization. Edifying. What do they all learn? What did they leave behind? A nice movie!
I want to advise reading this book anyway. It is useful in the sense that it puts things into context exactly, better than the sublime images of Hollywood.
