What does change significantly is that now the main shepherd from this album and thereafter, will be the taciturn Athanasius (his last name is Percevalve Does they taught us at the end of Volume 3) both thoughtful and skeptical, perhaps even melancholy. Exit the old shepherd who will now only sporadic appearances in the album.
Another notable change in this album compared to the other is the fact that temporarily pass the format of a double page sketch in several short stories size six or seven pages. In the album, this trend will vanish again to regain most often the standard form of a skit by double page.
With the coming of Athanasius and his Melancolico-poetic hermit personality, I think about is the color of a green trend more pronounced (do not forget that the album was released in 1978).
Then of course all the elements of the identity of the series are there: a flock of sheep to the personalities and the most atypical concerns or even totally stupid; as a shepherd dog always philosopher and out of reality; secondary characters still unlikely and incongruous; word games, multiple references, winks ... in short, the Genie Des Alpages, what!
One side of my personality told me that I like, another that it is a big delusion of the author that does not lead very far. I always have a bit of trouble to position myself, I am certainly not packed but I continue to read, so it should not be that bad. Besides, this is only my opinion, and it's not worth much more than a great silence, curly kale or not, that's up to you ...
