The somewhat outdated MacBook Pro early 2008 should continue to be used. So pure SSD and upgrade the interfaces: the still existing USB3.0 ExpressCard Logilink to multi Beast for Mavericks (search engine use) installed. Positive surprise: SuperSpeed USB3.0 is displayed and the test copy of a photo folder it goes around twice as fast as on the available USB2.0 ports. In the usual benchmark programs the hard drive on the card is not recognized, however. The card can due to their size remain without supernatant in MacBook and are activated in the status bar at the symbol to save power. To reactivate it then has to be removed shortly and reinserted. A small drawback is that the map (if you remove the USB cable) is pulled out, if you do not keep manually against it. But this seems to be so in all tickets and to be due to the ExpressCard slot.
