I ordered this Repeater, because I wanted to have the entire home WLAN. I use a T-Com Speedport W700V as a router located on the 1st floor. Partial was on the ground floor of the reception, very weak, so the acquisition of the repeater. The initial installation seemed simple at first. I have the Repater with a network cable connected directly to my notebook and started the installation wizard and the necessary data (SSID and encryption eigegeben). Dacnach I made a mistake. In the Speedports menu was the repeater has been detected immediately, then I anwählte this to select it as firmly Repater. That was wrong. For whatever reason ?? Now no PC could comunicate with the router more. After the repeater function in the Speedport menu disable it worked again. Now I wanted to configure a number of fine-tuning on the repeater, but could no longer access the repeater under the supposed address: "fritz.repeater" just comb: The page can not be displayed. What I did not know was that the Speedport had assigned to the repeater a new IP. This I had to read in the speed ports menu. Now after entering the new IP in the browser, I was able to access the AVM 300E menu. This is but nowhere. AVM should accordingly revise the manual. What wrote the previous speaker that the SSID is not to change, not true. The repeater although usually send the same SSID as the router but can be changed if desired. It is also important that the channel the router is fixed (1-13). Leaving the channel selection to be "automatically" are regularly disconnections.
Conclusion: After hours of research and trying out the repeater works perfectly, but the included manual is rubbish. For lay a tough nut, especially if the router does not come from AVM. Therefore, a star deduction.
