This book is a novel without quite being ... It mixes the art of the new, telling us the daily lives of 14 characters, the style of tourist guide: each chapter starts with a presentation guide way of a neighborhood, and the novel since a bond unites all these lives, imaginary city of Kittur and especially Indian life reality or rather of Indian lives. I loved this book, which speaks true, tells a India from within, without sentimentality or negativism. It allows us to live with his characters, to understand without judging, there is neither good nor bad, but just the human in each of them. it also makes us aware of the weight of caste, traditions, religions and especially difficult for a young country to become independent without falling into corruption ... All this is told with ease around these famous personages, gentlemen, "everyone" of modern India. I loved this book, I discovered an author I did not know but that I would enjoy to read, and a book that I would enjoy offering.
