This is "The Exile of Angels", which I enjoyed, introduced me to Gilles Legardinier. "We were men" is, in my opinion, even better. This thriller is primarily a race against time, a struggle of the protagonists, a survey hundred at a time when one goes from one surprise and where the suspense is maintained until the end. I strongly recommend this reading that mixes suspense, twists and intrigue beautiful.
