In contrast to conformism "Lagarde and Michard" Kléber Haedens revisits French literature by unbolting the overrated idols (Hugo, Rousseau ..), and reassessing the authors he loves (Nerval, Villon ...) . Necessarily biased, but joyful and often convincing. And superbly written.
