The world Divergent
I do not know you, but when I finished Insurgent, the heavy fog around Chicago was the first thing I wanted to clarify. It was one of my biggest questions, and I was very pleased by this qu'Allegiant brings to my questions.
Very satisfied to know what lies beyond the fence, to know what is happening in this world, beyond the factions of Chicago, and know in what state is the rest of the country. Allegiant is a total unzoom on the first two volumes, and why and how is perfectly placed, what guarantee an explosion of discoveries and revelations for this final volume.
Veronica Roth has repeatedly confessed that this third book was the first thing she had planned before writing Divergent. What patience. And what a fine precision work.
Its inhabitants
Veronica Roth not only reveals the world around Chicago, but also its inhabitants Tris and Four projectors are obviously at the center. Their strong personalities, similar and opposite, are expanded. And we discover or rediscover them at the peak of their different traits.
In fact, you may already know, Allegiant has a double narrative: Tris and Four.
Unlike Tris, who plays power over the tomes; Four is more unstable and faces the biggest dilemmas. Naturally, I found his character more exciting to discover, despite some disappointments. But that's part of his right character?
Nevertheless, sometimes slaps lost.
For both!
At the secondary characters, some are eclipsed slightly to make room for new characters, and new views and new personalities. And that's cool.
The choice of Veronica
A few words about the choice of Veronica, often harshly criticized:
The double narrative: many have complained, advocating single narrative, to better discover the central character. Personally, I found this wise choice, since it is clear that this dual narration makes this more intense volume. A narrative perspective Tris OR Four would really frustrated me and left on my hunger.
The end: Notes on Amazon.com shows: the end has not pleased everyone. This is something understandable when one imagines that each novel deserves a perfect ending. But I can mention several novels that do not, and have not been classified as unsatisfactory. The hearts are broken, and not only in real life.
Veronica Roth made several difficult decisions, and I congratulate her for being brave, and have forwarded it to Tris and Four the way she wanted to give them. Is an end can make an entire saga poor? Honestly not. And I think those who think are just annoyed at not having got what they wanted.
To finish
Allegiant intensifies this great trilogy. The whole saga was a great lesson about love and courage but also mainly full of other values such as selflessness, sincerity, family and friendship, loyalty and sacrifice.
Without being cheesy, this trilogy has changed my perspective on what really are these values, like a huge philosophical dissertation. This trilogy taught me a lot and made me grow.
Mentally, physically because it is dead.
