"Thunder In The Sky" is an EP. An EP in Manowar format understood. From the thickness ago it looks more like an album and contains two discs. The first disc contains 4 new and 2 well-known songs:

The second CD contains the song "Father" in 15 different languages. Well, who needs it. The German version is very well done for the rest, it is only the question whether the local fan really all versions need or whether it would not have done the German version as a bonus on Disc 1. But so are just Manowar: Just do not mess, but show off neatly. Therefore Disc 2 is probably my least Manowar rotating disc are.
Speaking of mess and padding: For the booklet Manowar have the German fantasy author Wolfgang hollow leg caught that accompanied the songs with matching short stories in the booklet. Let's see how is the album booklet.
But now up to the main thing: the music!
Already with the first notes fall on positive that Manowar again prefer a rougher, earthier sound and let the kids keyboards of "Gods of War" and "Warriors of the World" in the closet and only use discreetly. A step in the right direction, since it is precisely the "Gods of War" songs have lost much of their power through the excessive frosting.
The songs in detail:
"Thunder in the Sky" - A real Power Metal song with a catchy riff, yet eingängigerem chorus and a magnificent solo. Top 5/5 points.
"Let the Gods Decide" - rather average uptempo number, when Eric Adams but his amazing vocal range is once again demonstrated. 3/5 points.
"Father" - A gentle ballad that loves mainly by the magnificent voice of Eric Adams. Presented at "Heart of Steel" or the musical like "Master of the Wind" not zoom. Purer average 3/5 points
"Die with Honor" - distributed to fans Last year Single. A stamper in the vein of "Warriors of the World". Very anthemic and could be a soon-to-be-classic. Manowar trust in this song but completely on her standard vocabulary (Chorus: Fight with blood, fight with steel, which with honor, never yield, fearless hearts, filled with pride, Into Glory We Shall ride). 4/5 points
"The Crown and the Ring (Metal Version)" - A band classics. Why Manowar were that the song has to be re-recorded, the secret will remain, particularly the Song 1: 1 was replayed and deserves only the last chorus part the term "metal" version. Needless - no valuation.
"God or man" - In addition to the title song, the best number of the disc. "God or man" makes hungry on the album. Is sometimes fast and thunderous, epic then again, supported by Eric Adams the next Ronnie James Dio probably the best singer of the metal genre. 5/5 points
Conclusion: If Manowar like / love / deified (please delete) is on this EP have his joy, although I still think the Amazon price of 12.95 a bit exaggerated for a EP (regardless of whether I have a song in fuffzehn languages served or not get). Anyway, I look forward to the next album that - judging from "Thunder in the sky" or "God or man" - should be really good. One can only hope that Manowar going with a strong new album in the back finally back on Crusade (pronounced tour) and not entrench themselves in their Magic Circle castle.
