I am a fanatic of the book by Saint-Exupery who accompanied me since my childhood. But I must say it has done Joann Sfar is remarkable, and very poetic. Not easy indeed to break away from the classic picture book of the little prince that was all! Sfar's book enriches the Saint Exupery, far from replacing and it's obvious, it offers another perspective, different planes. One could say that if Saint Exupery images are extremely disseminated, copied books, Tshirt and other derivatives, the pencil stroke Joann Sfar helps revive our visual and textual imagination on this story. This reminds me of the version of "yesterday" Beatles had taken Ray Charles. Tribute anyway!
