Since the first album of the absolute beginner, I am now a follower of Jan Delay and his distinctive nasal voice. Also "Mercedes Dance" is one of my favorite albums, and I was therefore excited about this, suddenly the media duly hyped new album from Hamburg veteran. Unfortunately, I have to say that I was (with the exception of parts of "Searching for the January Soul Rebels") by Mr Eißfeldt places disappointed for the first time at least. The disc has a lot to offer musically doubt, but I have to honestly say that I the impression of temporary listlessness can not help me. There is no question that one of our best musicians made an instantaneous attention for a long time already earned, but in my eyes it does no good to his fans trying to release an album with only 12 tracks, of which good 3-4 semi-finished or slightly short appear and is not overly good instrumental. Not infrequently flashes the great potential that lies dormant in this plate, on some passages and passages are incredibly well and give an idea of what would have been possible. For me, this album has a huge potential that it assigns unfortunately somewhat recklessly and thus in the end of a possible masterpiece becomes a merely good plate but remains below its potential. Mainly because of the significantly short term I can only awarded 3 stars Unfortunately, unfortunately, but'm optimistic that Jan Delay his goal of creating a further milestone in German music, is still accessible. Otherwise: Buy & find out for yourself, but please together with "Mercedes Dance"
