Seiko Men's Watch XL Automatic Automatic Stainless Steel Analog SARX001J (clock)

Customer Review

Hello There,

added, the title is something exciting but a Japanese clock with Roman numerals ... that what you think times exactly :-)

After SEIKO SARG013J (see Rezi there) I have a short hand even bought myself the SARX001J.

The SARX001J stands out due to one thing: the silver Zifferbaltt with the large-sized two Roman numerals XII and VI and the matching indexes. What just not as well seen on many a photo is the three-dimensionality of the sheet, in fact the whole "face". The inner "slice" of the blade is dull, the structured "ring" around it is now more deeply during the turn dull, narrow ring entirely on the outside back of the same height as the game has inside.
The indexes and the digits are formed according to their respective bottom and are each seated exactly on the dial to. These hour markers have a goodly amount and give the whole face a certain depth. You have to like. Now on the outer ring, the so-called. Feinminuterie was printed, per coarse tick one minute a further fine subdivision, namely 5 very fine lines. That makes 6 divisions per second, which is exactly the "tick-tock rhythm" namely 6 half oscillations of the balance per second corresponds to (and then extrapolated to the commonly specified 21,600 vibrations per hour).
The SEIKO lettering on the sheet is slightly raised in the SARG013J this is vigorous, total "massive" designed. Incidentally, the inner surfaces of the respective members of the two Roman numerals are painted black.
The so-called. Dauphin pointer have a good length, according to my personal taste of the big hand a tick could have been longer. Neither hands nor the indexes have Leuchfarbe; This means that the clock is not at night to read.

The glass is a slightly cambered sapphire crystal, which actually allows any scratches and also shows that even the SARX001J is already classified in the top league of SEIKO watches. The clock is static up to 10 bar waterproof. Swim and snorkel should therefore survive without damage.

As the SARG013J is processed very tidy and this clock. Essentially, the clock is polished, only the upper surfaces of the lugs are brushed and bridges so visually very nice transition to the steel strip. The clock has a glass bottom. As usual with Japanese watches the back is screwed on a full thread. The crown has the "S" engraved (in SARG013J is the "S" sublime), which shows attention to detail.

Both watches (SARG013J and here the SARX001J) are equipped with the automatic movement 6R15C. A very convincing machine with automatic winding, stop seconds to accurately set the clock, date quick adjustment, with the possibility of the work on the non-screw crown Again manually, so to be fitted by hand. This makes especially when restarting the clock sense, so to speak her mitzugeben a Schupp with a few turns of the crown. In this clock, the work of a mechanical clock is very accurate, the difference remains less than 5 seconds per day when a whole section of the clock runs too slowly in my carry. I actually do not like. If one watches both overnight side with the crown upwards, both clocks get back on time. So you can compensate somewhat the path difference.
For the "Swiss-Made fans" among the readers: The work is well comparable to the ETA 2824-2, has the same features at comparable power reserve, here: about 50 hours at full lift, but resonates well known in the ETA balance with a higher frequency (28,800 vibrations per hour). Both works build relatively high, a good everyday practicality benefits. As usual with Japanese plants also the 6R15 is designed by on pure functionality, pretty to look at, it is not, despite ribbing on winding rotor.

The high version of the work and the visual depth of the sheet let the clock even in relation to the relative large-Masser the clock (41mm without crown) appear not only powerful, it is with its almost 13mm height also. So it is not quite as good on the wrist like the SARG013J shallower by about 1.5 mm in 1 mm larger diameter.

For me the steel tape like better: Optical essentially 3 row but the bezel fits with additional two polished narrow elements that fits perfectly well with this clock. On the inside of the band can be seen very quickly that it is a total of 5 items per member. The buckle, or the folding clasp is very similar to the SARG013J, but he's running here again a massive ticking. The actual closure is stable and will not be accidentally opened by a strongly kinked inward wrist. The fine adjustment of the length of tape could still be a fine stage, there is no half-length band members and the adjustment within the clasp I consider sized with 2 positions for a bit short. The tape could thus bear the tick too loose or too tight on your wrist.
Another craft Note for those who cut the tape itself: The members are connected to pin and sleeve. Please work very carefully, the sleeve is approximately 3mm in length very small and will possibly fall out of the belt member, can thus be easily lost.

Each clock is individually numbered, the whole clock is "Made in Japan" because (almost) everything comes out of a house has the clock manufactory status.

Conclusion: Overall, the clock is friendly light, made still easy to read and very classically total. The large numerals and indexes give the clock a distinctive face. In relation to the price very well-made clock, whose work is robust and is also pretty accurate. Unfortunately, the clock built a little high, which can be distracting.

I like that part. One of the best watches with Caliber 6R15C the market and despite slight weaknesses in detail for me - still worth a buy rating - also in comparison to corresponding Swiss watches.
