Enough of the added something negative introduction, we come to the unspeakable drawer partition of this album: coarse clear heavy metal, but that is not enough. Of course, the well-known shredder aspects of Loomis, but unlike the high to very virtuosic solo part, he refers, inter alia, JS Bach, and even the sometimes really hear out. This one is but the album does not do justice alone, but it can also be Doom, fusion, ethno, jazz-rock elements and VA prog rock elements. Drawer would be my part: Progressive neo-thrash metal (würg: I hate that)
The first track as an opener is still relatively tame and conventional moving across the stage, not my charm. But already at No. 2 (Opulent Maelstrom) quickly develops a real diabolic inferno, nothing to hear once in passing, turned up loud so you can also quickly make unpopular among its neighbors .... Track No.3 (Jato Unit) appears more like a Presto-Etude, as strenuous as a virtuoso, but a kind of shimmers from two sides kindled fireworks of a past. Track no. 4 is the classic "Calmer" to take a breather, quiet pleasing melodies in combination with acoustic guitars. Track 5 is in turn an absolute, well, fusion highlight starts, doomy, then swung suddenly on ethno-like sitar-like sounds, then Melodic Metal strikes, next shredderts etc., no breathers. Track 6 was rather unimaginative, mostly fast, virtuosic but uninspired, does not stick. Track 7 (Sacristy) is the Bach Tribute, to melt nicely ... "Devil Theory" (Track 8) is similar to Track 2: diabolically fast solos lines, it shreds at all corners and edges (and everywhere Yngwie looking over shoulder), then interspersed Paganini Etudes similar runs. Track 9 apparently also in the Net curtains Shield for Loomis' arts, highly virtuosic, something like a Grand Etude à la Liszt, romantic, brilliant and just 1 million notes per minute .... if you like it. The last track is 10 as its title (Departure) the bouncer: quiet Calmdown acoustic part, conventional familiar Melodey could go on for hours like this, but listen abruptly .... ;-)
Overall great highly virtuosic album (God I'd give anything if I could play the guitar so ...) but in places but in his own virtuosity too narcissistic, while the conceptual thread losing: therefore a star deduction.
