And that also in this case traditionally approaching, we know after a few seconds - because the band plays the same time the issue of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow". So then follow alone nine songs of the three albums that Turner did with Rainbow. They include both Purple-heavy up-tempo hits like DEATH ALLEY DRIVER CAN NOT HAPPEN HERE and cool and groovy, no less Hammond-colored heavy rockers in mid-tempo like JEALOUS LOVER or optimistic AOR gems as POWER.
In addition to the Rainbow fabric Turner presented three pieces of his recent solo albums "The Usual Suspects" and "Second Hand Life". POWER OF LOVE, YOUR LOVE IS LIFE and BLOOD RED SKY rock powerful and feature-purifying souls melodies. In short, whether old or new, the songs are all top notch. And also the sound of the band is traditional and authentic - neoclassical Blackmore-hooks and Hammond organ land without end!
Keyboardist Michael Sorrentino, who sometimes also the sound changed, and guitarist Karl Cochran (also played at Turner's solo album "Second Hand Life") are raised technically all doubts and provide faithful Frickeleien. Joe Lynn Turner is in good voice and sings charismatically by the heights of the past and present. If you compare, for example, listen to the Leningrad Malmsteen-Live disc, to Turner's voice has certainly changed - but not impaired, what we indeed know of the very convincing last solo works. The tone has changed, similar to the colleague Steve Walsh. Turner sounds now warmer and a bit rougher.
It's early and now a delight to listen to this so-present voice. That the song to be as in the foreground, CAN NOT LET YOU GO makes it one of the highlights of this CD, in addition to the explosive Mitsinger I SURRENDER - once the most commercially successful song Rainbows and still a highlight.
Turners single Deep Purple album "Slaves And Masters" save he and his associates, but playing for BURN. Here the whole band including screamendem frontman gives everything again! Overall, a great CD recording on which found even magnificence of the concert as "Highway Star" is no more room. "Live In Germany" is passionately celebrated musical timelessness. And rocks immensely!
