On Her Majesty's Secret Service (Remastered) (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Few composers remained a project as long as faithful as John Barry. Since "From Russia With Love" the good man composed for (almost) every Bond film, the background music.
His last use as a composer was in "The Living Daylights".

Among his many tunes which he has devised for 007, stands the of "Her Majesty's Secret" particularly pointing. When I've played with a synthesizer theme first heard, it was almost like love at first sight. Although I (usually) not a big fan of electronic sounds am, it is not disturbing at all in this case. The film is very appropriate accompanied by the respective tracks, and thus fulfilled its task perfectly.

But the special thing about this track is that it works together not only with the film, but also can be made alone. I would even go so far as to say that this is in addition to "The Living Daylights" the best music for a Bond movie is that comes from Barry spring. The music is very catchy and characteristic, and as a Bond fan will they in any case can never forget.

It is a pity the fact that due to the general rather unpopular (unique) actor George Lazenby this film (and thus his music) fell into oblivion! That's really unfortunate. From Lazenby can grow what you want. I think he's generally underestimated. He was a young male model of good fortune had to get hold of this coveted role. But he could not argue against Connery himself because he lacked screen presence and practical experience. I suppose not offended that he could not fill the role as well as its predecessor. Because everything in one, he has done well for a rank beginner.

But now back to the music. It concerns with the music to a rather gloomy at the same time very dreamy and romantic soundtrack.
Many pieces are very sensitive, and make it perfect is the romantic relationship between Bond and Tracy. Most action sequences using the title theme of the film, which was exceptionally not sung times. There is the beautiful but unfortunately also the last song by Louis Armstrong. Although this does not act as the theme song, but can (unofficially) are regarded as one.

And yet another important note for all Bond fans love. The product that I here rezensiere is the remastered version of the soundtrack. So beware when buying on please, and they do not accidentally order the significantly shortened original edition. The problem is in fact that did not distinguish the packs (front). You have to pay attention to the "Remastered" exactly.
In this extended version a lot of new tracks are included, such as "Gumbolds Save". But some pieces on Bonds stay in Blofeld's allergy clinic alleged are now represented.
Who cares. All Bond movies with Sean Connery and Roger Moore are also available in such an expanded and remastered edition. By Timothy Dalton's two films unfortunately was considered only the 1st. Why not get a remastered soundtrack "license to kill" is completely incomprehensible to me. Presumably it was once again the stupid copyrights.

I call here a couple of times out tips:

The second track on the CD "That would be the other does not happen" is really wonderful. It is the introduction of the new Bond theme performer and really very well done. The beginning with its high sounds is especially beautiful. But the rhythmic string sounds that accompany the first fight scene are among my absolute favorites catchy.

The third piece "Try" is also very nice. It is a quiet piece of the same one is reminiscent of a casino. Nice place to rest.

The fourth piece "Ski Chase" is also a great piece of the first begins quietly, but then gets going really moderate action.

The sixth piece is the title theme of the film and very well done. I could no longer get out of my head for a long time.

The ninth song "Over and Out" gives one the feeling that something important is imminent. The calm before the storm, so to speak. I find also very nice.

The tenth track "Battle at Piz Gloria" reused the main theme, and mixed it with some other sounds. For me one of the highlights on the CD.

The fourteenth piece "Gumbolds Save" is only included in the remastered version, and gives a tight feeling. A great piece of the excellent tension promoting the film, but also works well alone.

The twentieth piece "Escape from Piz Gloria" is reminiscent of the tenth piece and is therefore just as wonderful.

Only one track on the CD seems a bit out of place. The beautiful Christmas carol on the Christmas tree like it very much, but somehow it affects everything in a quite inappropriate, and tearing a somewhat out while listening. I am happy for the people that like it, but I could live without this piece. Especially because the sung in German version of this is even more beautiful.

And now briefly about the CD itself. In addition to the CD is a nice booklet with some pictures and some (English) text contained. I'll probably buy in the future, all remastered soundtrack of James Bond, and continue to hope that even "license to kill" such a CD gets donated.

So, thank you for reading folks. This is 1st review, so please do not be too strict with me :) So, see you next time!
